I wrote this essay to inform the world about how wrong we are about other races. The color of someone's skin is just a color. It doesn't actually influence their behavior or who they are.

The Internet Speaks For the Mind

As time goes on our lives start to revolve more around the internet. If we don’t know the answer to something; we google it. If we want to voice our opinion; we get on blogging websites and speak our minds. The amount of access we have is incredible. However, it’s not always a good thing. Between the horrible events that influence how we perceive things, online news access, and websites that anyone can make; it can create an unnecessary hatred between races.

In today's world when something traumatic happens we tend to accuse a specific race of doing it; even before we know who did it. September 11, 2001, four planes were stolen and ran into the twin towers and destroyed them. The government claimed it was a terrorist attack done by Muslims. When everyone heard about this the hate crimes towards Muslims went from 28 incidences to 481 incidences. Even though they had no solid proof that the Muslims did it. The FBI even stated between 1980 to 2005, 94% of terrorist attacks weren’t done by Muslims. Around 2015 ISIS started to become a serious threat all over the world. Due to the “facts” about ISIS all over the internet as well as the news; we believe that it’s the Muslims who are doing all of these horrible things especially the ones in America. When in fact, the highest number of Muslims that support ISIS is only 15% and they are from Syria. The unknown truth is that the people that have joined ISIS from America are in fact other races including white people. Yet we still perceive Muslims to be terrorists.

When it comes to the News we usually always believe everything they have told us. However, over the past few years, I have noticed that the majority of the crimes that they have been discussing have had to do with other races committing them, excluding white people. According to the 2012-2013 violent crime statistics from the FBI, 42.9% of the offenders are white, 22.4% are black, 14.8% are Hispanic, and 19.9% are other races. But we still blame other races for crimes, when in fact, white people are committing more crimes. With the internet today we don’t have to wait for the News to come on T.V. anymore. Now we can read about it on the internet. Because of this, more people pay more attention to the News. Even though the majority of what they say is false.

The internet today allows us to create our own websites. This can be helpful or hurtful in many ways. As of today, there are hundreds of hate sites all over the internet ran by different hate groups. Sadly, these sites have been causing more damage than we thought. The KKK made websites to recruit people and promised them that if they join they will gain honor and respect from the whole white population. Another group is the Neo-Nazi. Even though they leader is in prison and the temporary leader is facing a murder charge they are still active. These groups are very influential causing many of their members to attack and even kill other minorities.

As you can see the internet has divided races and created hatred by accusing them of things they didn’t do. The internet tries to make us believe that white people are superior by making us look innocent and perfect. When in fact, we are the same as them. The only difference is the color of our skins and we shouldn’t let that stop us from treating everyone equally.
