Sometimes

I lay awake at night

Thinking about you, me, what could have been us

I miss our talks

You hugs and your kisses

The taste of your lips early in the morning

The feel of your body in the water

How your arms felt around me

How it felt to fall asleep in your arms

Sometimes

I cry at night

Because honestly, I just miss you

I miss hearing you tell me that you loved me

I miss hearing your truck drive up

I miss sitting and laughing with your family

Sometimes

They bring you up at school

"Hey, he shaved his head, now he's bald"

"Hey, he was drunk lastnight"

"Hey, did ya'll really fuck?"

"Hey, do you still love him?"

Sometimes

It's too much to bear

I have to turn my head, put my headphones in

Silently will the tears to go away

Over a year later and, guess what?

I miss you, and...

Sometimes, you still break me
