When you were a kid and it Snowed a lot! It was Magical! So you put on layers and layers of clothes. 3 pairs of socks, plastic bags over your socks, then your boots. Then the Snow suit, the gloves, a hat and a jacket you could barely move in because they were so thick back then!

And you go to play under the street lights with the neighbor kids also dressed in layers and layers hardly able to move but thrilled to be outside as the Snow falls and everything is so quiet. The Snow glistens and sparkles as it falls under the street lights. You catch Snow Flakes on your tongue and you inhale the cold fresh air.

You make Snow Angels with your friends and sled down the hills as fast as you can - over and over again! You build forts, igloos, have mad snow ball fights until your grandmother calls you inside for the night.

Perhaps she knew that you were now soaked, frozen and couldn't feel your feet, face or hands but you were determined to keep playing anyway. Oh the fuss you put up when called inside!

Once you get in the warmth, you realize how cold you really are. You are purple and red under your clothes and your Snow suit is frozen stiff! So your grandmother brings you warm water in a bowl to help you thaw out - get those feet and hands working again and get changed into warm dry clothes. All of your Snow Gear is hung up to dry for the next day.

And then there is the hot Coco with Marsh Mellows! There was something so good about having that when you came in and could move your hands again to hold the cup!

That is how I grew up. No cell phones. No video games. 3 channels on the TV as no more were available. No VCR, DVD, DVR or anything else. Remember the Saturday morning Cartoons?

Cold, wet, soaked and frozen! Gosh I miss those days!
