One Grandpa's solution to the Christmas shopping season.

This time of year we seek good cheer

And smiles on everyone's faces,

With colorful lights and spirits so bright

That they fill us with deeds of good graces.

Black Friday comes and shopping malls hum,

And the frantic procession of shopping begins.

But you won't find me there, at the Mad-Hatter's Fair,

To my soul that's the worst of harmony's sins.

Well, in my old age I've turned a new page

I write them all checks for what they adore.

I don't pay though the nose for presents in bows,

They can buy after Christmas. There are bargains galore!

Sensible idea, JE. And a good poem too.
