A Gift

A selfless decision,
Capped in isolation,
To bring an ease,
To the yearling oak.

The leaf of life,
Where veins do vine,
A complicated exploration,
Their branches entwined.

The restless oak,
Stong in nature,
Her brittle acorns float,
Where the flood waters lie.

Hopes and dreams,
Perched upon the forest floor,
In a deception causing pain,
Where their foundation lies.
