The national disaster I see coming

I see quite a few rants against our president and Hillary Clinton, the truth is, I see all of us paying the price when King Donald is sitting on the golden throne. I remember when President Obama was first elected, a lot of people on the far right claimed he was going to become a dictator, who, once in power, would take everybody's guns, declare himself dictator for life, and impose Sharia law. I thought it was laugh-out-loud funny at the time, but we're closer now to having a true dictator with Trump, the right's joined with him at the hip, and willing to overlook the gigantic flaws of humanity this guy has. Most on the left are too polite to say it, and, while I consider myself a liberal, it's well above party, it's about being an American, and I'm saying it.

Those of you on the right, ask yourself this: say a Democrat had said even one of the countless crazy things Trump has said, you'd be screaming blue murder. Yet, you're willing to put up with it, because Trump claims to be a Republican. Truth is, the only person he cares about is himself. He's not a Republican. One must also ask themselves, is this the kind of person we want or need representing our country, or being a role model for our children? If you're honest with yourself, you'll say no. Personally, I sit and watch with growing unease (and that's quite a comedown from denial and outrage) what's become of American values. I fear a fundamental shift has taken place in our democracy, and I despair for the next few years. I don't see how we can recover, to be what we used to be, the leaders of the free world.
