DESERT FRONDS

Fireless flames of salty acrid sand,

Hit flat leathery faces, like steely hand,

Sunburn licks of misery heat,

Remind doomed desert bound man.

Tumbleweed roll to a desolate place of rest,

That oasis full of life, a wine full of zest,

God forms a gentle breeze, to allow hell some ease,

Silent reeds on water abound, save rustlers of the West.
