Feelings we all have, some more than others !

When you're down

there's no clown

just a frown

It’s a sadness

that comes from within

It grasps and dictates

holds and frustrates

It seems like you never will win.

Yet the days

pass right by

then sun filters through

bringing a warmth

that you feel is but you

the stormclouds are lifted

dawn finally breaks

slowly diminishing

all those heartaches.

So bring on the laughter

may it last here on after

for many it’s the norm

to be lost in a storm

downs not the end

It’s the start of life's cup

then upwards on onwards

It fills itself up.

What a great positive way of looking at it, Mr Watson. And it's sure true that a bit of sunshine can make a difference. A really nice read!!

Positivity can be a hard task for some Hull'y.
I thought i'd do one for those feeling this way...
Tomorrow is another day a fresh start, even the winter suns better than no sun, then again, I am on vitamin D tablets !

Thanks for looking in Ronald.
It' sad, when you think of those in a predicament that theres little chance of escape from, yet there is a light as you well know !

I love the simplicity of your poems, Mr Watson. They cut through the cr#p and say it just like it is.

Being simple helps a lot, I don't mince my words Chris, say it how it is, that's my motto.
Thanks for dropping in.

True words, sir.
No matter how long the depression lasts, there's always a way to climb out of it. It never feels like it will end, but eventually it does, and that is such a great feeling! It still amazes me when I slip into depression how down I get and how hopeless things feel, even though I know I will overcome it again and eventually regain my confidence. That's the negative power of depression. But it enforces the positive power of my determination and hope. There's always a bit of light between the rain clouds.

I dont really get down to be truthful, I get a bit snappy at times, like a bear with a sore head. Ha..Ha..
Thanks for commenting Jeff.

There are times it is impossible to imagine not being in a funk. But then, there's a good cup of tea and a bagel smeared with cream cheese, and it's miraculously cured. How can one's outlook not be better?

I couldn't agree more with you Tom, I'm partial to a cuppa and some chocolate digestives.
They cheer me up no end.

This lifted me like a good cup of coffee. I think I found the first piece I would like to share, but I first must place on my bookshelf. However, this isn't just some wordplay with positive intent. It is more than this. It described what I have felt for days, but it reminds me that storms are followed by the sun. Thank you my friend of the pen!

We all have our ups and downs Joseph. I'm pleased you can relate to this and follow the sun, it gives me warmth knowing that others feel the same way, after a storm !
