Arjun was running. He had not the dare to look back as he kept running and panting, his chest was going to explode and his heart was threatening to burst open as he had been running…..running for a really long time now. Still, he kept running and the only instinct that made him run was the ear-splitting roars and it grew louder as seconds passed. There was not a single soul to be seen. “how come nobody is around “he thought. He tripped over a stone and crashed to the ground and quickly turned back only to he held down by the lion as it placed its deadly paws on his chest scratching him. For a second they exchanged glances and then Arjun closed his eyes. A loud gunshot and the even disturbing sound of the monster screaming in agony and another gunshot and complete silence.

Arjun opened his eyes to just look at his older brother Dev smiling at him and lifting him off the ground and started carrying him. Arjun had no words to say. His voice was muffled by fear and as he relaxed for a second. Suddenly, he was thrown to the ground and a scream that was even more threatening than before … Dev was screaming and as Arjun opened his eyes he saw the lion had Dev’s neck and blood was gushing out of Dev’s neck like an open tap. Arjun’s scream of horror never left him.

He fell from his bed and woke up sweating from head to foot. .It was night and it was very cold. The door to his room opened suddenly and there was Dev standing laughing his head out as he saw his kid brother lying in a clumsy position on the floor., but immediately stopped, looking at his terrified face.

“What happened”, he asked. “It was a very bad dream”, Arjun said. Dev smiled once again lifted his kid brother from the floor and pushed him back on the bed and asked “Do you remember anything about the dream”. “you were eaten by a lion” replied Arjun. Dev burst out laughing, “That was great. go to sleep now, goodnight” he said. “I’m scared, can I sleep in your room, ” asked Arjun. “Sure, and he lifted his kid brother and walked to his room downstairs and laid him on the bed. Arjun felt like the room was unusually warm compared to his. He felt protected and watched as Dev walked to his table to work on his laptop and fell asleep in no time.

Arjun woke up next morning. He could tell it was a sunny day as the room was brighter than usual. Dev was not to be seen. Arjun got up and looked around the house. “Robot”, he called out to his pet German shepherd. There was no response. That was strange he would generally come and jump on him and start to lick him. He went upstairs to his room and dressed quickly and peeped out of the window. He felt relieved to see that Dev was taking Robot for a walk. “Big Brother, wait for me, yelled Arjun. Dev looked up and Robot started barking. He gave a big smile “I need to go Arjun” and started walking with Robot.

Arjun could not understand as Dev kept on walking with Robot. He ran downstairs and opened the door. Dev was quite far away. How did he walk that fast thought Arjun? “Big Brother”, he yelled again. Dev stopped and looked back and gave a smile again and kept walking with Robot barking.
