A A A

A night sky with a blueish glow,
Crushed velvet with scattered holes,
Dotted with the light of distant nebulae.

Rings appear as seconds pass,
Made of flotsam words and phrases,
A planet once green and wild,
Now grey and devastated.

I hold this world in my hands-
Cupped like the water from a river-
And I stare.

It is far from dead,
Though burnt and dull it may be,
I protect it at the risk of my self,
Comet tails scorching my skin.

There are few living on this tiny orb,
But they thrive and they cheer at my grace.

I will hold them and this planet,
Warming it and giving new life.

My breath with become it's wind,
My eyes it's stars,
And my voice it's thunder.

And they will live on,
Until I am no longer.
