What was that! An innocent creak of a floor board or a guest in the night? Johnathan was determined to find out; he creeped out of bed and walked across the cold hard floor being sure to dance around the creaky floor boards. When he got to his door he creaked it open listening closely, he couldn’t hear anything so he headed for the stair case. Past his parents’ bedroom and down the stairs he went, like a ninja he didn’t make a sound. He reached the landing and ducking down to make sure no one could see him he peered through the railing and waited. He waited only for a moment when his father walked into the room followed closely by his mother. By the flickering light of the candle his father was holding he saw that they were arranging presents under the tree. “Clever, very clever” he thought to himself “he knew I was awake so he had my parents set out the presents.” Now smiling Johnathan started heading back up the stairs and to bed thinking to himself “I’ll get you next year Santa.”
