A A A

There was that kid that would pick on me in class
Called me all the original names
Hey idiot
Hey spaz
They would throw paper at me
Tripped me in the hallways
Chase me around the playground
I had the same ritual every time outside class
Run, hide, and make sure no one knows you exist
I would cry rivers at night
Scared of what tomorrow would bring
But this is one thing they never did
They didn't look in my eyes to see pain and abuse
They never looked at my actions to see anxiety
They never heard my voice to hear crus for help
They never saw my wrists which cried for an exit
They never heard my heart which bested for realse
My heart pounded against my cage, hoping to escape
But did they notice?
Not at all
They continued their games
But let me tell you something
If you fall,
Get up,
Dust yourself off,
And keep going
Sticks and stones do breaks bones
But words make you stronger
So believe me when I tell you
It's ok to cry
