In this story you will read about a family who have two dogs and the mutt is hated by everyone except the son.

It was a typical florida summer day, everything was very hot. We had two dogs that were half brother and half sister. The brother dog was a full blooded pit bull and the sister dog was a mix between a pit and a black lab. No one loved the mutt because everyone thought that she was a stupid dog, but I thought otherwise. I knew that she was a very smart dog from all the tricks I have taught her how to do. I tried to get my mom to watch her do the tricks but they didn’t want to watch because their mind was set on the dog was very stupid and could not learn anything.

One night when I was sleeping I heard one of our dogs whining and scratching at the backdoor like he or she needed to go out and use the bathroom. When I came out of my room to see which dog it was, I was surprised to find my dog at the door staring out the glass window on the door. I was asking her why she was sitting there whining but all she did was keep looking out the door like something was out there. I slightly cracked the door before she burst it open with her head. I ran outside behind her wondering what the big deal was about and why she was acting like this. I saw her in the corner of the yard barking at the top of her lungs, like she was going to attack something.

As I was heading back inside I noticed that she didn’t follow me back inside and that she has totally disappeared from the yard. I went inside to grab a flashlight to try and start looking around for where she went. A few minutes have passed by and I still couldn’t find a flashlight, so I thought to myself that I will just resume the search in the morning time. Trying to fall asleep that night was very hard since all I was thinking about was all of the bad things that could happen to her.

When the sun first came up I was outside looking for where she could have ran off to, but I could not seem to find one sign of her anywhere. When my mom woke up she came out and asked me what I was doing up so early, I told her that one of our dogs ran away last night when I took her outside. Immediately when I said her, my mother didn’t care anymore since she didn’t love that dog one bit. No one seemed to care about her except me. This dog was my best friend, she loved me for everything I did to her. It made me really sad to know that everyone else hated her just because she was a mutt and not a purebred. I thought that she wouldn’t end up dying from depression from not being loved by everyone since she was a really energetic and lovely dog.

When everyone in the house was awake I had told them that my dog has ran away. No one seemed to care about what i had to say since it wasn’t the favorite dog of the house. I was upset that people thought she was dumb and not smart like their dog. I asked them if I could possibly come up with a way to make lost dog flyers to hang up and give to people, but they seemed to have no interest what so ever about my dog. I knew that I only had two options, and they were to go look for her by myself or find a way to get some flyers out.

I went to my room to go and make some flyers to handout to people around the neighborhood. I made sure to put all sorts of information on it so they would know who to contact if they found her. I printed 100 copies to make sure that people had enough to give out to their friends to help look for her.

A Full year has passed since my dog has been gone and I never thought she would come back when all of the sudden, I got a call on my old phone. I was rushing to search for the phone to see who it was and why they were calling this old number. When I got to the phone I saw that it was one of our neighbors calling me. When I said hello they told me that they have spotted my dog. I was so happy that they had spotted her around here. I ran outside to start looking for her when I saw this very skinny looking thing down the street. I started to walk towards it when I realized it was her. I ran to go get her and never let her go again. When I got to her she was very malnourished looking and looked like she had been beaten by someone. Immeaditealy I ran inside to tell everyone that she had came back. Everyone came running to see that she had returned. When we got to her she was lying on the ground dead. This broke my heart so much that crying was the only thing I could do for 20 Minutes. My mom told me that everything would be alright and that I would get over it sooner or later. We were all sad but we knew that she came back to who she truly loved and died in peace.
