Lessons

Layers of earth
stand the test
of elements kept
close to her breast.

Preserving them
for future need
nourishing her
and her flourishing seed.

Awaiting the moment
for the seed to take root
thin hands reaching
and taking food.

Eagerly seeking
the knowledge of old

of what time has taught
lessons for the bold.

Never take for granted time;
count all moments in life
including the ones

that cause so much strife!
