Edge

Looking over the edge of a cliff that says it won’t betray me.
Is gravity lying to me or should I listen to its voice?

Invisible shadows are pulling and tugging at my strings.
Mazes of light spin around and confuse me.

A canopy falls all around me and I see my own darkness.
Candles around me, yet I’m still blind.

They say I’m just dreaming, but they’re the ones that I’m dreaming of.
Thunderclouds spill out all my fears,
and I’m struggling not to drown in my tears.

There’s something that’s hanging through the clouds.
It’s a rope that I’m staring at,
but the question is do I decide to climb it?

What if I fell?
What if I just let go?

But what if I made it?
What if I broke through my thundercloud?
