Game or sport is a big stage phenomenon. A country’s youth is well versed with all kinds of games played. But the entire country is obsessed by a single game called CRICKET. The game though has gone through a lot of changes in different phases. The level & the popularity of cricket have taken to new heights. In the country, the roots of the game starting at the school level or rather club level. The set up of playing the game as well as selecting a kid is a very transparent process. If an individual kid is talented then his presence will be felt at all levels of the game. No talent is hidden to a country’s selectors. For every sport the age limit is not a constraint. If a teenager does well in playing for a club then his consistency will lead him to a state level team. When playing club cricket, 3 friends were talented enough, but the selection of all 3 of them would be a miraculous ride, rather only 2 of them were selected for the reason as one was a bowler & the other a batsman. The 3rd friend was unlucky as he too was bowler & this appeared to be blow for him. The selected individuals were Ram, a middle order batsman & Rehaan, the off spinner. The unselected was Matthew, a fast bowler who although was annoyed with himself but after few days he started his practise & his hard work was to pay him the fruit. But destiny played a big role to change his fortune. In the 1st limited overs tournament the club lost hugely due to its fast bowling as their prime player was injured early in the game & could not have a impact. The Coach & the support staff thought of a replacement in the squad, the substitute wasn’t Matthew. In the 2nd game, the team won but with a narrow margin. Both Ram & Rehaan had played their parts in both the games, but everyone might know that Cricket is a team game & if any individual people without much support then his team may WIN / LOSE. The bowling unit once again was hit all over the park, which had been the prime reason for the margin of victory. In the Do or Die match, Matthew was called in the 15 men squad although he was not picked in the playing 11. The 3rd match was special for Ram and Matthew. Firstly Ram played a decisive knock while batting & Matthew was brought in as a substitute fielder who had showcased a very impressive fielding by picking 3catches & playing a important role in 2 of the Run-outs. Matthew was a natural athlete who had changed the bias of the game by his electrifying fielding. The club qualified to play in the next stage, Knockout stage. Finally in the next knockout match the 3 friends formed the core of the team, neither of them was the captain but by shear presence in the field the 3 had made a nightmare for the opposition. The club’s close in fielding & catching was the highlight of the game. This uplifted the team & the underdog club emerged on top in the contest, which eventually meant that they had qualified for the Final for the 1st time & that came on back of a elimination of the prime title contenders.  In the final, a big crowd had gathered to witness the true sporting spirit which the game of Cricket symbolises. For a club game, 1000 spectators were present. In the midst when the rival team was fielding all its 15 men had to field occasionally due to injuries as well as dehydration. Meanwhile the 15 players too were not enough as from the final 11 men their came a situation when one of them too got a fitness problem. So, they thought of asking the rival club (i.e., the 3 friends club) to just opt a single fielder for them. None of the club members were ready to field for the opposition club, and then suddenly Matthew asked the permission of his team coach to help the opposition. This indeed was the moment of the gesture of the true Sporting Spirit. The result of the match was in favour of 3 friends & the 1st time in history of the club cricket a tournament defining performance i.e., the Man of the Series was given to Matthew for his all-round effort in fielding, bowling & especially for keeping the sporting spirit alive.  In every game, the sporting spirit should be showcased by the individuals & rightfully it was showcased in the final of a club tournament. This had set a wonderful lesson as well as a bench mark for the crowd present in the arena. “From sporting a look in life it is better to show a sporting spirit on the field”
