A molten pool; orange, red and black; viscous, scalding rock swirls.

Love will drown here in the pure, sensual, hot magma.

The sulphurous vapors; noxious, steaming, lusting; sear our breath.

Lungs gasp, sweltering in fire and smoke.

Willingly we plunge into the fiery abyss.

Discarding fears, our flesh burns in sultry, blistered ecstasy.

No sunburn this; no slight peel of scorched outer layers.

Our bones are stripped clean, gnawed open, sucked dry.

Charred to ashes.

All that is left is the flavor of passion,

like velvet raindrops quenching the tongue’s thirst.
