Captain Spaceship and the Wedding of the Wilting Woman by Robert R Holmes
Earth date: June 22 universal year: 3.86e11+3210 AUC
Dear Captain Carl Spaceship,
We have recently received a request from Lysithea to send a diplomatic crew to attend a royal wedding. As you know, Lysithea is a moon of Jupiter and has a policy of no entry of outsiders and no leaving of natives (with the exception of Plutonion officials). We don't know why they want a diplomat now after millions of years of seclusion but we are not going to miss this opportunity for diplomacy and to learn of their culture and history as muchof that knowladge has dicipated from us in the past four million years. We sent you because you're the only one who can get out of any possible trap they maybe setting. We won't be able to contact you throughout your mission so good luck.
Sincerely,
Admiral Feurstein of Terran Station Lucas
The SS Roddenberry makes its way to Lysithea. Captain Spaceship sits in his cockpit observing the piece of paper while the ship is on auto pilot
"So, what's going on with this moon that requires our attention" said Zim as he joins the captain in the cockpit. The captain turns his chair to face his Martian friend and tells him, "we've been invited to a wedding. Nobody knows why they want a diplomat now. They don't let any non Plutonion officials enter or leave the moon so we don't know that much about them. We've been instructed to attend the wedding, learn of the Lysithean culture, and, if possible, improve relations between the Jupitarians and the Solar Federation."
Zim's antenna spiked up and he spoke with slight hilarity. "This sounds like a trap!"
"This is most certainly a trap Zim. That's why I want you and Gears to stay on the ship the majority of the time. If something happens to me, and I can't make it back, Gears should be able to fly you back to Earth."
"Why do I have to come at all?"
"If something happens to me, and I do make it back, I'm probably going to need a doctor."
The ship approaches the moon and a purple figure appears on on the ship's visual display.
"We welcome you Mr. Spaceship, the first Solar diplomat to come to our moon in over a million universal years. Before you come to our planet, we are going to ask you to allow a search of your ship and persons for weapons. Only Lysithean and Plutonion officials have the right to bear arms. You can keep them on your ship but you can't have them on the compound. As a sign of goodwill, we recommend you just put all your weapons in an easily found location."
"Understood" said the captain as he went around the ship and put every weapon on the dining area table. "Aren't we going to be, as I believe the Terran phrase goes, sitting ducks without all our weapons?" Said Zim, somewhat nervous. Captain Spaceship looked at him and said, taking him seriously, "That's another reason why I want you to stay on the ship. I don't want to try and hide anything big, I want them to know that we truly come in peace and are fully willing to cooperate.”
A large square opened up in the clouds on the moon. The Roddenberry flew threw the square in the clouds and landed on a metal platform. The moving ramp came out from underneath the door of the rocket and Captain Spaceship stepped out onto it and let it carry him to the ground. There was another person on the platform. He looked like a Martian with his oval head and big silver eyes. However, he had no antenna and his skin was purple. Captain Spaceship had read previously that this was how the people of Lysithea looked. Behind the man was a rounded building that looked more like a military base than a castle. He looked around and noticed he was in a desert with blue sand. "I was told I'd be landing at the castle, is this it?" The alien chuckled and replied, "yes, I've been informed that other civilizations use their castles as a means of expressing power and hence focus on outward appearance. We build it more for practicality. So we build them mostly underground and away from populated areas to protect from attack and to hide the castle. The inside is much more decorated as you would expect. Welcome to Lysithea! We will search your ship in a moment come with me."
Captain Spaceship was then escorted through the door of the strange castle. Inside, the floors were marble with marble pillars that stretched to the ceiling. In front of every pillar stood a Plutonion soldier. Lysithea was a part of the Plutonion Empire so having Plutonion guards was no surprise to Captain Spaceship. The walls were covered in murals. Each one depicted Lysitheans in combat against Jupitarians. They told the story of a war and how the Plutonion Empire saved them from a great evil. Captain Spaceship was then escorted to the far end of the room where there were four Lysitheans. They appeared, to the captain, to be old man, a young man, an old woman, and a young woman. Each one in elegant dressing, more so than anyone else, and were obviously the royalty.
As the captain walked through the crowd, he noticed that everyone was wearing some suit or dress so he was the only one in a military uniform who wasn't a guard. He looked down at his metallic suit and decided to unzip his suit to the bottom of the collar and folded his collar in an attempt to look a little more formal. This caused him to lose thermoregulation in the suit which would lead to it getting very warm. However, the room was well enough air conditioned, the captain wasn't bothered too much.
When the captain arrived, the old man spoke to him. "You must be Captain Carl Regan Spaceship. Welcome to Lysithea." The captain made sure to not stick out his hand, like he would normally do on Earth to shake, because some societies see it as rude and may interpret it as asking for something. They seemed pleased with his actions so far and made no mention of his attire so the captain was somewhat relieved.
They talked and the captain learned that old man was High King Yrv, the old woman was High Queen Yäl, and the two young people (who were the betrothed) were Prince Tij and Princess Foy. He learned that it was Lysithean tradition for royalty to only have one name and for those names to be simple and more like sounds than actual words. This keeps their names simple, easy to remember, and indistinguishable from anyone else. The captain thought that having such abstract named would make them harder to remember but he didn’t say anything about it.
They told him of the wars with Jupiter over piracy against them and that their seclusion came from that scare and has lasted even millions of years afterwards. The Captain learned that princes and princesses from every kingdom married and every marriage was arranged in an algorithm so nobody married their first cousins but the bloodline was still purely royal. This was a tradition that's been held for millions of years. And there was an election every year and every year an overwhelming majority of the people agree with these traditions. Lysithea has freedom of speech and nobody has ever been stopped by the law for speaking against royalty or tradition.
Captain Spaceship told them of Earth and the Solar Federation. He told them of the planetary disputes between the Solar Federation and the Plutonion Empire. He told theme of Shakespeare and Solar Literature. He also told them of personal things. Like how he was born on Earth to the name Carl Regan and orphaned as an infant and how he was raised on Venus and given the name Spaceship.
Captain Spaceship noticed, throughout the conversation, the princess remained mostly silent and disconnected, distracted by something. Suddenly, the small door in which Captain Spaceship entered slammed open and two Plutonion guards entered and stood on either side of the opening. The guard on the right then shouted to the room, "now presenting, the great leader of the Plutonion System Emperor Teil Nyson!" The Plutonion man walked in. He was wearing long blue robes that dragged behind him. His left antenna was caught in his ground. He stood with his side to the guards. He said, in a volume that was only audible to the room because of the quiet, "my antenna is stuck in my crown" the guard on his left then turned to face his lord and asked, "may I lift your crown as to make it unhindered?" "Yes you may." The guard then reached with his hand that was holding the butt of his gun and grabbed the front of the crown and lifted it by two inches. This caused the emperor's left antenna to resume its natural, erect position. The guard then gently placed the crown back onto the emperor's head and said, "thank you, my liege," and then resumed his initial position.
Captain Spaceship nearly scoffed at this. He knew the emperor purposely put his antenna in his crown just so he could tell the guard to fix it. It was a show of power made just to intimidate everyone in the room. The captain refrained from reacting at all.
The emperor then walked down to where the captain and the other royalty were. "We meet again Mr. Spaceship!" "You two have meat?" Said the prince as he was taking a drink from one of the nearby servers. "Yes, unfortunately not in the best of circumstances," said the captain as he took a drink for himself. "Well, I hope we can put that behind us for at least this evening and into the morrow." Replied Teil. The captain could only take a deep breath and say "me too."
The conversation continued and the emperor basically repeated what the captain had said about disputes between the Solar Federation and the Plutonion Empire but the emperor described it in a way that was more pro Plutonion. Captain Spaceship wondered if his own speech was skewed to be pro Federation. The captain made a mental note of this and promised to make a more objective description of Federation vs Plutonion events.
The captain was mostly quiet for the rest of the conversation, only speaking up when the emperor described Zim as, "cowardly." "Zim is not a coward, he is rightfully cautious. I have never seen him limited by his own fear. I have seen him stand up to the people for whom he was most afraid. He's not a coward, he is doing what he believes will keep him and those he loves safe." The captain tried to not sound too angry when saying this. Nobody looked at him like he had done something outlandish so the captain assumed he was fine.
After a while, the high king eventually said to everyone, "this has been great fun, but now I think everyone should find their quarters and prepare for the play that will take place tonight before the ceremony tomorrow." A robot then approached the captain. The robot stood at roughly a meter tall, had a horizontal, cylindrical head, a relatively big boxy body and two extendable arms that ended with claws. It moved itself around on a single wheel. "I'll escort you to your room sir," said the robot in a female's voice. She showed him to a moving platform which took him down several flights of stairs to a door that slid open. "Here's your room sir." "Do you have a cigarette?" "Of course!" The robot reached into the door on her chest and pulled out a white stick and gave it to the captain who promptly put it in his mouth. A small fire then came from the end of the robot's left claw which the captain leaned into to light the end of the stick. Once lit, the captain leaned back and said, "thanks" and walked into the room.
Immediately beyond the door was a small hallway that had an entry to a bathroom to the left. Continuing down the hallway opened up to a bedroom with one large bed and a table and chair in the corner. On the table was an ashtray. The captain sat himself on the chair and dumped the ash on his cigarette before putting it back in his mouth. He pulled back the sleeve on his left arm revealing his communication watch. He extended the antenna from the top of the watch and began to turn the two dials while saying, "Zim Zim do you read me?" The screen went from static to showing a clear image of the Martian's face. "I'm here captain, how is everything there?"
"Plutonion Emperor Teil Nyson just showed up. This is starting to smell more fishy by the moment."
"Neptonion harbors don't smell this fishy. This mission was a bad idea."
"I knew what I was getting into with this mission. We'll be fine, I'll make sure of it."
"If you say so."
"How's everything on the ship? Did the Lysitheans search the ship."
"They came and took notes of everything and said that they used laser scanners to inspect our persons. Besides that, I've used this opportunity to organize my medical cabinets and I've finally started my paper on the dietary differences among Saturnites from different parts of the planets and rings. I've already written ten pages."
"Wow, you work fast. Anyways, I'm in my hotel room now and soon I'll be escorted to see a play. I'll contact you if I learn anything new. Got it?"
"Rodger!"
The captain finished his cigarette and decided to go to the bed and take a nap. About an hour later he was awoken by a knock at the door. The captain got up and walked to the door and it automatically slid open revealing the same robot as before on the other side. "The play will begin in thirty minutes, shall I show you to your seat?" The robot asked this, keeping the same polite tone of voice. The captain was confused for a second but then quickly realized what was happening and said in almost a panic, "yes, please, thank you."
They stepped onto the moving platform which took them to a large set of doors with two Plutonion guards positioned on either side. The robot opened the door to let the captain inside and the quickly rolled in front of him. The room was large and several floors high. The first floor was a stage. The next three were seating that was just chairs. And the top two rows contained room sized bubbles that had tables and two floating egg shaped chairs. The captain was on the floor second from the top so it appeared he was getting the luxury seating. The robot went over to one of the bubbles and the door to the inside opened. The robot then said, "this is your private viewing bubble. It contains high definition speakers and a visual zoom and repositioning feature as to allow your most ideal viewing experience. The captain walked in and saw two very comfortable looking chairs and a table. On the table sat a box. When the captain picked up the box to inspect it, the robot told him, "those are the finest cigars on Lysithea, compliments of the high king." "Tell his highness that I give my greatest thanks."
The captain opened the box to find five cigars, a small box (which the captain quickly figured out was an electronic lighter), and a small bit of plastic that became an ashtray when unfolded. He took out a cigar and lit it with the electric lighter before taking a seat in one of the hovering chairs.
The opening act came onto the stage. It was a stand up comedian. The comedian mostly told jokes based on observation. The captain didn't get a lot of these because of his limited knowledge of Lysithea. Suddenly, the door opened up. Captain Spaceship turned around and saw that it was Princess Foy. She was still in her dress from before and she was holding a book and a blue memory cartridge. She walked in and the door closed behind her. "I came here to bring you these and I was hoping we could have a talk," she said holding out the book and cartridge. The captain took them, placed them on the table and said, "of course, what do you want to talk about?"
They both sat down and then the princess began to speak. "I don't want to marry Prince Tij, I don't even want to stay on this moon. Can you please get me off of here?"
The captain was shocked by this question but then quickly asked in response, "have you spoken to anyone else about this?"
"Yes, and every time I do I'm reminded that tradition is tradition and that most of Lysithea agrees on the tradition."
"You don't have a say in any of this?"
"None, Royal marriage is based on an algorithm, I don't have any say in the matter. There's this whole universe out there and I'm only given the opportunity to see a very tiny portion of it."
“Why can’t you get yourself off this moon?”
“I don’t know how to fly a ship. There isn’t a place on this moon for me to learn how to fly a ship. The only people I know who do know how are the Plutonion guards and they are physically incapable of disobeying Lysithean law. You’re the only person I know with a ship and can think for himself.”
"Does Lysithea really have fair elections? I hear about fair elections that turn out to be biased towards one person's opinion. This sounds like it could be one of those scenarios"
"The elections are fair, everyone has a choice and a voice. I’ve seen the whole process of counting the votes. Every year there is an election and every year an average of seventy percent of the people vote to keep old traditions and laws. There are many groups that speak against the traditions and they do so with no repercussions."
The captain looked at the book he was given. The book was titled The Plants and Animals of Lysithea. The princess looked down at the book as well and said, “it’s a fascinating read and I’m sure even more so to someone who has seen very little of this already small moon.” The princess stood up and began to walk to the door. “I don’t need an answer right now just come to my room at around midnight; I’ll leave my door open to you,” said the princess before opening the door and walking out.
The captain took out a portable computer from his uniform. It was a machine about the size of a brick with several dials, buttons, flashing lights, a large screen, and a hole in the back. The captain took the data cartridge he was given and put it in said hole in the back. He extended an antenna from the top of the device and then flipped a switch that was on the side. When he did so the screen showed static before displaying a black screen with a list of green words. This list included things like “capitals” and “people of interest” things that the captain noted would be perfect to give to anyone interested in a civilization.
The first option on the list however was a selection called “floorplan.” this was the selection that was automatically highlighted when he started the computer. This not only stood out to him because it was the first selection but also seemed to stand out from the rest. The captain pressed one of the buttons on the portable computer to select it.  When he did so, a crude 3D image appeared on the screen that was composed of green lines and one red line. One end of the red line said start and the other said end. Quickly, the captain realized that this was a map of the castle that gave him a rout from his room to the princess’.
Captain Spaceship turned off the portable computer and put it back in his uniform. He then pulled up his sleeve and pulled out the antenna on his communicator watch. He then began to fiddle with the dials  and said, “Gears, Gears this is Carl Regan Spaceship.”  A robotic voice then came through the watch speakers, “affirmative, this is Corporal Gears Law Enforcement and Rudimentary Rocket Engineer Robot model B-9.” The screen then went from static to displaying the face of the robot.
After explaining the conversation the captain just had with the princess, the captain then asked, “do I have the authority to get her off this planet?”
“Processing...affirmative! If she is being forced into a life altering decision such as marriage against her will, the claim could be made that basic person’s rights are being violated.”
The captain then then heard the sound of quick pattering then the screen was taken up by his friend Dr. Zim. Zim then said, “you are in a castle, a highly guarded military fortress. Do not do anything crazy!”
“Basic human rights are being violated, should I really just let that slide?”
“No, but if you try to do anything it could kill you. You definitely won’t be able to do anything if you’re dead.”
“I haven’t made any decision yet. But I’ll keep that in mind.”
“I guess I might as well get my tissue regenerators ready.” And after saying this, Zim walked away only leaving the captain and Gears on communication.
“Gears, have you learned anything that may be important to me?”
“Affirmative! I have investigated several reports have come in of people claiming to be escapees from Lysithea over the past 20,000 years. When I eliminated the reports of those confirmed to be be from other spherical bodies, leaving only those whose initial place of origin could not be determined. Of these, I discovered several who matched the physical description of Lysitheans you have encountered. Of these, I analyzed their official statements. Many of them contained one common piece of information: they escaped on a leaving Plutonion shipping freighter in a crate containing items such as metals, grain, and other such valuable recourses. All of these claims were directly declined by whomever was the Plutonion emperor at the time. Every Plutonion Emperor has claimed to not take any resources from Lysithea and that Lysithean borders have never been breached.”
“Boarders were first closed in an attempt to prevent Jupitarian piracy. Is it possible that the Plutonions only helped Lysithea close its borders to obtain the resources previously taken by pirates?”
“That conclusion seems probable.”
“Can you think of any reason I shouldn’t help the princess?”
“The Lysitheans would be less likely to have another solar diplomat visit for, potentially, another million universal years.”
“Would it be very likely even if I didn’t help her?”
“Negative!”
“Thanks for the information. Be on standby for any future conflicts and evacuation. Over and out.”
The captain retracted the antenna on his communicator watch and pulled his sleeve back over it. He then leaned back in his chair and focused on the play at least as best he could.
The play was about a Lysithean who left the moon to see the universe. But when he did, he just felt out of place and nobody was really able to accept him as one of their own. Wherever he went he was always seen as some sort of spectacle and his leaving had unforeseen damages to the moon at large. The captain thought the play had a totally false idea of what the rest of the universe was like but he thought the play was overall well written. He also thought the play was a little on the nose for his current situation. He thought about the play and how it related to his situation with the princess and eventually came to the conclusion, “whether or not she is making a mistake, she should have the right to make it and any consequences that may arise from her leaving are all ifs and maybes, nothing is certain. The only thing that is certain is there is a person who wants to leave, has the means to do so, and is being denied.”
The captain grabbed the three cigars he had left and put them in a pocket in his uniform. The door to his pod opened and the robot helper from before stood in front of it and asked “Would you like me to escort you back to your room?” The captain looked down at the robot and said, “yes please, thank you.”
When the captain got back to his room, he looked at the map given. He memorized many routes to get from his room to the princess’ room; although he did find that the rout given to him seemed the best tactically. He then memorized potential routes from the princess’ room to the exit. There were only two ways to get to the entrance. That may have made it harder to get out but easier to stay out if he and the princess could just seal off those entrances.
The captain was just about to leave when the door to his room suddenly opened. The captain turned to see two Plutonion guards; both were pointing their blaster rifles at him.The guard on the captain’s left then said, “Captain Carl Regan Spaceship, you are under arrest for conspiring to kidnap Lysithean royalty. You have been tried and found guilty. The punishment is death. Do you have any final words?” The captain was taken aback for a second but then quickly adjusted his plan and said,  “yes, I can always sneak in a side arm.” Then, he quickly reached into a hidden pocket in his suit and pulled out a laser pistol and shot both  of the guards out cold before they could even react. He noted they charged him with kidnapping and the captain thought that was only because they wanted everyone to believe that nobody wants to leave Lysithea.
The captain ran out into the halls and began running towards the princess’ room. He eventually came to a small crowd of 8 guards. The captain was able to shoot a few but then the guards started pulling out beam blades and using them to block all his shots. The captain then ran to one of the shot guards and took their beam blade and used it to block the other guards’ blades which gave him an opening to shoot. He had to dodge some of the attacks but he was able to make it out of the battle unscaved.
He then darted towards the princess’ room and was easily able to open her door because it was unlocked. He stepped inside and saw the princess sitting in a chair. She was not in an elegant gown as she was before. She was wearing cargo shorts, sneakers and a tank top. The captain was relieved that she was prepared to run.
The princess stood up and faced the captain. The captain gestured for her to follow him and they bolted out of the room. As they passed by a guard the captain had previously knocked out, the captain said to the princess, “take that rifle and protect my back.” The princess took the rifle that was on the knocked out guard and stood at the captain’s back and walked with him. Shortly after, guards started coming up to them from both sides. The captain was able to block and dodge all attacks thrown his way but the princess was able to take down several guards easily. This was partly because the captain was working with a beam blade and a laser pistol while the princess had a military rifle. However, the main reason the princess was able to shoot so many guards was because the guards were only trying to incapacitate the princess but they were trying to kill the captain. It was the duty of all guards to keep physical harm from Lysithean royalty under any circumstance.
They eventually came to a spiralling staircase which they climbed and at the top was a sliding door to the main hall where the party was held earlier that day. Once they entered, they saw three people in the center of the room. Two of them were plutonion guards, the other was Emperor Teil Nyson in his battle armour. The princess shot at all three and all three went down. The emperor stood up, the other two did not. The emperor then laughed and said, “I’ll admit, you caught me off guard. You have better reflexes than I had originally anticipated. No matter, there is only one thing that could pierce this armour,” and with that he pulled out two beam blades from the top of each hand.
The captain screamed, “catch,” and threw his laser pistole at the princess. She dropped her rifle and caught the pistol as she could not hold both at once. The emperor charged at her but was blocked by the captain’s beam blade.  “I’ll hold him off, I’ve adjusted the pistol to melt, seal up those doors,” and with that the emperor hit the captain with his knee sending the captain flying for a second. The captain stood up and resumed a fighting stance. The princess made her way to the doors and began to seal them shut by melting each side together.
The captain lunged at the emperor but he blocked, locking their blades again. The emperor tried to kick the captain but the captain knew better and grabbed Nyson’s leg and threw him on his back. The captain then stabbed at the emperor's arm and disabled one of the beam bladed attached to the armor. The emperor laughed and then lunged himself at the captain and continuously attached with a speed and force so great that the captain had no room to attack. The only thing the captain could hope to do was try to not get stabbed by the blade and take as few hits as he could.
The fury was stopped after a large PEWSH was heard and the emperor was thrown onto his stomach and the captain took his beam blade and stabbed it into the emperor's back, disabling the armour. The princess had shot a charged blast from the blaster rifle and that’s what knocked down the emperor. After doing this, the captain collapsed and the princess helped him up. As they were walking, the captain saw the princess had also opened the door to the exit. Once outside, the two heard a loud boom which was then followed by a series of voices screaming, “my liege” which was then followed by, “after them!” By that point, however, the captain and the princess were already halfway up the ramp to the Roddenberry. Once on, Zim helped the princess carry the captain to the sick bay bed. On the way, the captain struggled to say, “Gears...helm...Earth,” and with that the chair in the cockpit lowered into the floor and Gears came from the engine room to the cockpit, stood where the chair had previously been, and flew the ship off of Lysithea towards Earth.
The princess went up to Zim, who was fiddling with some medical device. “Is he going to be okay?” she asked, not knowing what technologies he had available. Zim responded, “He has several broken ribs, internal, and external bleeding.” The princess gasped and said “oh my.” Zim stared at her and said, “it’s nothing I can’t handle. “ Zim went onto the counter nearby and grabbed a small device that closely resembled a pen. He waved it over the captain.  Once done the captain stood up, turned to the princess, and said, “you think that’s bad, you should see the other guy!” The princess bursted with laughter as she went over and hugged the captain. “Thank you captain, thank you so much,” she said on the verge of crying. The captain hugged back and said, “it’s all in the job.” They continued to hug, “okay, that’s enough, gotta save some for my fiance,” she let go and stepped back about a meter. She was smiling and a tear was rolling down her face.
“Gears, what’s our ETA?” “Approximately 15 minutes and 25 seconds captain!” The captain jumped out of bed and walked over to the window in the sick bay. He looked at the princess and said, “come here, I want to show you something.” The princess walked over to the captain and looked out the window. The captain pointed to one of the stars and said, “see that star? That’s Alpha Centaury. That is where the High Emperor of the Centaurian Empire reigns. The Centaurian Empire is the largest empire in the universe. They control every star system around Alpha Centauri and every star you see around those stars.” The princess then asked the captain, “do all star systems contain life?” “Every spherical body. Did they not teach you that on Lysithea?” The captain asked this with some shock. The princess looked down at her shoes and then back at the captain and said, “well they did, but the only people that ever taught me were Lysitheans in very controlled environments; I didn’t know if I could trust them.”The captain smiled and told the princess, “that’s a good instinct, most people have to learn to get knowledge from more places than their homeworld.”
“Captain, now approaching Earth. Moving into low Terran orbit. On standby for further instructions.” Gears said this in a voice that demanded attention.
The captain instructed Gears to dock into Earth Station Lucas. When they did, they all left the ship and everyone told their side of the story and the princess was given sanctuary in the station, until it was considered safe for her to leave. The captain, Zim, and Gears were also kept at the station for a couple days for questioning. The information the princess gave the captain added about 31 Zettabytes of information on Lysithea to the Earth database. This was much less information than what would have been ideal but still better than none.
The captain stood in a room and in front of him were representatives of every planet in the solar federation. The president of Earth, Jessie Smith sat in the middle. Jessie looked at the captain and said, “your mission was to try and make diplomatic relations with Lysithea but, instead you decided to spoil a wedding and make a violent escape. At what point did you decide to deviate from your mission?” The president put down her papers and looked at the captain with one eyebrow raised. The captain looked at her and tried to keep as still as he could and said, “I decided to deviate from my mission when I saw a violation of basic person’s rights. There was a person who was not only being kept on a spherical body against her will but was also going to be wedded against her will.” The president then responded, “but it was lawful, in a democratic society even. The majority of the people seem to believe that keeping her there is the best thing for the moon.” “The ability to move throughout the universe is not a privilege, it is a right. People do not get to decide what your rights are, you have them because you are a person.” The president lowered her eyebrow and said, “good we just wanted to make sure you thought this through. In your statement you have speculated Plutonion piracy. Looking at everything you’ve given us and the information we have and cross examining it, that claim seems plausible. The fact that Nyson denies all you have told us and still claims that Lysithean borders have never been breached also raises some red flags. We trust you way more than we trust Nyson.”
The group dismissed but the captain was the only one who left. Everyone else stayed and discussed the matter. The captain began to walk back to his ship to go back to Earth. It had been several days since he saw his fiance last. Before he left, he decided to see princess Foy. He had heard that she decided to become an advocate of persons rights and was doing a speech. He went over to one of the press rooms and saw that she was  talking to a group of reporters. She was telling her life story and why she wants to fight for persons rights. At the end, she announced that she was going to leave the Solar/Plutonion system and was going to travel the universe to speak against the violation of person’s rights with funding from the Solar Federation. She did say she wanted to see the universe and the captain thought that she found the perfect way to see the universe.
All this talk of weddings made the captain long for his fiance. He was tired of waiting. It was time to finally set a date for his wedding.
