Celestial Spelling

The night is so dark,

the sky is so clear,

it’s making it look like

the stars are so near.

It’s as if the sky’s heavy,

that there’s too much weight;

that it’s blanketing us

in a moonlit fate.

And as I stand

there is no sound,

it’s as though they are falling

down to the ground.

I’m smothered in

a velvet cloak,

a blackened shroud

that makes me choke.

The slice of moon,

a silver knife

that’s warning of

some future strife.

But then the wind

it starts to blow,

the spell is broken

and I can go!
