Along The Line

I’m creeping my way carefully right along the line --

one side leads to tragedy and one will be just fine.

It wouldn’t be so difficult if I knew which way was which

for then I could just take the plunge, pressing the right switch,

but they both look pretty similar and it’s a mystery

and so it makes an exercise of balance just for me.

The tremors are now starting and the line begins to shake

if the vibration doesn’t decrease soon it is gonna make

the choice for me – my decision will then be made

and I’ll have to really hope that I’ve not brought myself to shade.

The wind of choice is picking up and forcing me to sway

and it’s getting really difficult to on my feet just stay.

I’m gonna get down on my hands and knees and then I’m gonna crawl

until I make my way across and not be compelled to fall.
