Peaches.

Velvet skin of orange hue,

What will be inside of you?

Will you be all hard and sharp,

Unripe with a taste that’s tart?

Or will you just be right to go,

With every bite the juices flow?

It’s hard to tell just by a look

Your secrets held like in a book;

But one thing I don’t need to see --

You heart won’t soften, not for me.

A fruit you are that’s called a peach;

Here you go, we’ll have one each.
