SCENE 1
Lesedi
You know life don’t play! Heeee!(she moves to the next garbage bin and starts fishing out) I remember some time back when(pause), yes that is the problem, I remember.
Street kid
Tell me aunty Sedi! Who is it you are chatting to today?
Lesedi
(Oblivious of street kid 1‘s presence she ramble on)
Hoe bright my future was, it could blind you hahaha! (She bursts into laughter then stops and reaches for her chest her face contorted as if in immense pain)
Street kid
Aaah! It’s the fat cakes they are catching up with you aunty! I told you to watch your duet.
Lesedi
(Acknowledges street kid abruptly and snaps at him) that is bad grammar, I tell you this all the time! What duet? Are there people singing here? Its diet silly boy, (she remises) I remember I was a performer once eish! I would stand on stage and put people in a trance with my spells of poetry, flowing each word penetrating and violently grabbing one’s ear!
Street kid
With all the glue I smoke I have never not in a day sawed people‘s ears being grabbed by words!
Lesedi
Seen! Seen! Past perfect  of see, saw past tense, I digressed what was i saying? Oh! Yes I was young alive full of hope, lived by the book, was an open book but life don’t play.

SCENE 2
Street kid
Aunty aren't you forgetting something?
Lesedi
One of the worst mistake is I never lived life!
Street kid
Well aren't you go? I mean gone,it's all so confusing! Past tense I don't understand at all.
Lesedi
Young man! Why are you following me around again?
Street kid
Well I have to, anyway you were telling me, the past tense.
Lesedi
There is a difference little one oh! How small your brain is, I was telling you of my past not past tense.
Street kid
Yes past not tense just past, its all so the same!
Lesedi
Similar, similar use your words anyway I had it all planned out, First degree, second masters third travel the world no children no sir, no mam not until marriage.
Street kid
But you are not married?!
Lesedi
Do not interrupt its rude! Do you not think I am capable of knowing my marital status? Single, married or widowed!

Scene 3
Street kid
Yes but you haven't told me anything yet!
Lesedi
No I have told you plenty it is unfortunate that your listening abilities are rather obscured, let me continue young man that I do not know why he is following me!
Street kid
I told you I do not have a choice(under his breath) It is my responsibility.
Lesedi
Sometimes I think maybe I had it all planed out a little too well that's why God, haha! Now there is a funny name, God! You see God knows all too well what was coming and why but still no warning!
Street kid
God in the past too?!
Lesedi
Past present future he is in all but not even a warning,"hey Lesedi watch out you are about to ruin your life",no mam not even.
Street kid
What happened?
Lesedi
I fell into the pit of self destruction head first and I was blinded for a long time. Left flapping in the breeze, my whole plan all for nothing.
Street kid
Well I can see that but what happened?
Lesedi
Well God knows if you are so eager ask him!
Street kid
How?

Scene 4
Lesedi
Young man I suggest you stop following me or I will call the police, I am warning you!
Street kid
But I have to,he said I will not leave your side until he comes back!
Lesedi
(Agitated and close to tears) I have told you a thousand times to leave me alone, leave me alone I have a plan, a good one this time a really good one.
Street kid
But I can’t leave you until he comes for you! I can’t leave you, I promised its my responsibility
Lesedi
You are a child what responsibility are you talking about?
Street kid
He said I should never leave your side, its my responsibility to you, my father our father!
Lesedi
I said leave , what are you rumbling about stupid useless child, I have a plan a really good one(Shoves the boy to the floor)
Street kid
(Screams) I am no supposed to leave you until he is back!

Scene 5
Lesedi
Wasting all my time, precious time once lost it can not be returned!
Street kid
Please wait
Lesedi

Street kid
Mom wait, mom! Please dad will come for us after work just like he does everyday, he just wants you to remember first, its alzheimer’s disease mom! It’s just a stupid disease, it causes you to forget everyday you lose a piece of you!

Street kid
No mom you are not homeless, you have four children and I am the last born, your favorite and I am home schooled , You used to tell me as a child you were so scared of ending up poor because growing up you had always been poor.
