Remember, remember
The day of December
Their bow and arrow
And thy plot.
Stiffen thy brow
Let loose thy anger
Strung up long ago
Is it time to untie that knot?
Choked the life out of it
Buried down in the ground
Cursed the one, prayers done
They walked away with the sun.
Out of breath, out of light
Gushing forth like a flood
Why forget thy shot to head.
Today I will bleed it all
For once I’ll live before my death.
Before the hanging I did talk
Maybe he did wish to rot
I managed to tie that knot
To the gallows he did walk
Proud enough that he was caught
Did he smile?
Did he plot?
They did drag and strung him up
I lost count as they were shot
All those arrows passed through
All but one stuck in heart
No need to stiffen, no need to breathe
Spare thy shroud, the blood did sheathe
No anger, no bow and arrow or plot
Still swinging from that unloosened knot
For days and nights they’ll keep you shut
Just keep it shut
That’s all to it, but
Remember, remember
The days of calendar
Their bullets and bombs
And thy plot
Lose thy temper
Unleash thy anger
Swinging shall stop
It is time to untie thy knot
Remember, remember
The day of December
Their bow and arrow
And thy plot.
Stiffen thy brow
Let loose thy anger
Strung up long ago
Is it time to untie that knot?
Choked the life out of it
Buried down in the ground
Cursed the one, prayers done
They walked away with the sun.
Out of breath, out of light
Gushing forth like a flood
Why forget thy shot to head.
Today I will bleed it all
For once I’ll live before my death.
Before the hanging I did talk
Maybe he did wish to rot
I managed to tie that knot
To the gallows he did walk
Proud enough that he was caught

All those arrows passed through
All but one stuck in heart
No need to stiffen, no need to breathe
Spare thy shroud, the blood did sheathe
No anger, no bow and arrow or plot
Still swinging from that unloosened knot
For days and nights they’ll keep you shut
Just keep it shut
That’s all to it, but

Swinging shall stop
It is time to untie thy knot.
