Guillotine

A guillotine is an apparatus designed for

carrying out executions by beheading

A tall upright from with a blade angled

For that perfect chop. The

Blade is raised to the top and suspended,

Waiting for its next victim.

The condemned person is secured with stocks

There heads facing downwards looking in,

The basket knowing there head was soon to roll

The steel sharper than any razor

And can you believe executions by

Guillotine where a popular entertainment

Just like now watching a game on the pitch

Back then it attracted great crowds of spectators,

with vendors selling programs listing the names of the condemned.

And when the heads had been chopped and fallen into the basket

People spoke of seeing blinking eyelids, moving, eyes, and even

Movement of the mouth I wonder what it was saying

(SHIT THIS WILL HURT)

I wonder if we should bring it back
