You're drowning.

Suffocating.

Gasping for that breath of oxygen to fill your lungs.

You wish for it to lift,

for your heart to return to its normal beat.

Gradually,

your hope begins to fade.

Your thoughts take a drastic leap over a cliff of absolute self-destruction.

That's what it feels like when you're losing it all.

When the entire world seems to be crumbling around you,

and you are so far out of reach that picking up the pieces is nearly impossible.

You go numb.

Speechless.

Can't bare to form the possible words with the disarray inside of your mind.

Your heart is thundering against your chest,

threatening to escape.

You shake.

You cry.

It's running its course,

and truth be told,

you don't know when it'll end.

It's taking hold of you.

Consuming you.

Wrapping its imaginary arms around you.

However,

after awhile.

You let go.

You immerse yourself within it,

and in the end,

when it's all over and done with,

you breathe.

That's why we survive,

right?

To trudge through the toughest moments of our lives?

That light at the end of the tunnel.

That refreshing intake of air.

That eurphoric high of life.
