(26 January 2017)

Some nights are long, and so is some driving…

From a long day at the office, I drove a short route to the night

To my love, my heart and soul.

From where she was, the building was embraced by silence

I decided to join in the peace too,

But under a tree, from which the neon-light pearced some reasonable light.

I anticipated whatever break in silence might be…

Some nights are long, and so is some driving…

My phone rang, and so the silence died.

It was my love, my heart and soul.

I do not know this face, yet it was a shade waiting in the dark

waiting? Have they spoken? Is this common?

Or friends? Are we that free? hug and jolly?

I anticipated whatever break in silence might be…

Some nights are long, and so is some driving…

For poets and song-writers, a word is from a heart.

Nights and darkness are unquiet spaces,

Ideas of pain, jealousy and fear are born

I took on a night with silence,

I took on a morning in the same way too.
