Ignorance.

We’re all ignorant to some extent, choosing what we see --

a mind that does see everything simply could not be

but the guy I’m introducing, I think that you will find,

his ignorance is so extreme, to reality he’s blind.

He’s already made his mind up, his brain is one closed book,

whatever you may show him, he won’t even take a look.

An opinion that is offered – well, he won’t even listen.

You can talk as much as you like but his eyes in boredom glisten;

then eventually he’ll walk away, his head still in his cloud,

convinced that he is always right and feeling very proud.

He’ll talk and talk without a pause, he loves hearing his own voice

and you will listen to him ‘cause you really have no choice.

His blinkered eyes see nothing that to him does not agree

with the reality of daily life that he sees fit for you and me.

If he should feel a twinge of doubt, will he seek advice?

No, not at all, he’ll follow it through – seek no help at any price.

You can plead and you can shout, you can wail and weep

but his ears won’t even hear because he’s in his cloud so deep.

The chaos he brings in his wake – that’s your fault and not his

because he cannot be just slightly wrong – he really is the bizz!

Best to keep out of his way, best to run and hide,

he’ll carry on, walk over you, with not a stumble in his stride.
