Four years ago you lived your last day

And I was just going through a boring Monday

You ate your last meal and spoke your last words

I never got to know them and that knowledge still hurts

I remember the summers I spent with you

How we stood in the garden just adoring the view

I remember the plums that grew on your tree

And how we used to pluck them so happy and carefree

Your pancakes were always delicious and sweet

And all your perfect cooking, I just loved to eat

The ice cream you kept in a box in the cellar

And how good you were as a storyteller

Do you still remember the incident with the snake,

On one of the many strolls through the woods we’d take?

I can’t forget how it was there out of the blue

Just carelessly snaking around your shoe

Well I could just keep on writing on and on

And my list of memories would get awful long

I’m glad I have them to be able to share

To tell the world of how fantastic you were

My dear grandmother in the heavens above

I send to you my endless love.
