I Was Born Part III

I was born between the deserted winds

and forgotten time.

My father was the angel that fought

the darkness alone, and he fought hard

and my mother was the eye that cried

everyone’s tears.

When I was born a light in the

darkness told me to leave my wishes

behind and escape the tender grasses

that tramples upon them.

I could hear the negligence talk to the

secret it has abandoned until it was

time to not let go.

I could see the wind combing right

through the eyes of the sea while

it reads its blessings.

I felt a rumble of fear in the

baby birds eyes that never wanted to

fly out its dreams but in its mother’s

arms where now he will be safe again.
