I look up into your eyes,
So much warmth, happiness,
I smile at you, my world.
You teach me right from wrong,
You've loved me all along.

As the years passed,
And I began to grow
I didn't care you were older,
I didn't mind running around outside alone,
But one day I turn to you
Your eyes weren't as warm,
Your smile didn't look right,
I look into your eyes,
Your smile looks forced
Your eyes look distant,
You don't watch over me anymore.

I'm an adult now, I can walk alone.
But I'm afraid,
I didn't realize time was passing,
I didn't notice your hair was turning white,
When did you get so tired
Why can't you sleep at night.
I don't want the day to come when I look down into your eyes,
I dont want to see them cold and lost.
I can't sit here silently,
Why are you saying goodbye?
It can't be your time to go
I can't watch you die.

Please time, stand still,
I never wanted you to leave my side.
