This is a collaboration between Hullabaloo22 and myself:

It's stunning to me that there is anyone

who believes the collision course we're on,

careening drunkenly and recklessly down the road,

scattering friend and foe alike, trying to goad

and bully them into toeing our line,

taunting old friends, when things were fine,

is just what our country needs; dream imaginary troubles,

which never existed, where arrogance and macho doubles

for strength, where intolerance and belligerence are now the face

of America, where alternate truth and facts take the place

of actual truth and real facts; a red flag for everyone.

For those of us alarmed, there's nowhere to run.

A diplomacy bull self-turned loose in the china shop,

handling porcelain with a sledgehammer, subtle, he's not.

But the china shop has broken, he’s out now on the street,

he’s trampling anyone and everyone that gets underneath his feet.

He’s so sure and he’s so certain that he knows just what is right,

and it seems that he is blindly so determined to cause a fight.

All the world is being scrutinized then met with some derision,

especially should they be so bold and make some sort of criticism.

The give-and-take that did exist in the form of global co-operation

seems now to be a target of a massive dismantling operation.

Will there be anything left to recognize when all this has been seen through,

or will society no longer be there for the likes of me and you?
