Leaving Piccadilly

On the ten to two

Calling at Stockport

Eccles and Crewe.

The train fully booked

The carriage is packed

People stuffing their case

In the overhead rack.

The student works hard

On the computer

The parent and child

Beside the commuter.

Young man playing

Games on his phone

Soldier on leave

Travelling home.

Lads drinking cans

Which one's the stag?

Chain smokers waiting

For their next fag.

Ladies who lunch

With friends to meet

Guy heading for a date

Getting cold feet.

To the buffet cart

For a cup of tea

Our next stop is

Quarter to three.

Married couple out

For the day they planned

Here's the conductor

Have your ticket to hand.

We finally arrive

At our destination

The train pulls in

To the last station.
