I am laying on my bed in the dark

Concentrating on Breathing

In and out

In and out

I cannot get rid of the tightness I feel in my chest

I am suffocating

I am breathing in air but

I am suffocating

My whole chest aches

And aches

I blame it on other things

Like maybe it’s because I am working

But I go home and I feel the same

Maybe it is because I am tired

But when I wake up is when I feel the most alone

My heart is working overtime

Because it is missing a piece of it

A piece that for over a year that has made my heart it’s home

Slowly over time growing into my heart

Becoming one with it

But suddenly this piece was ripped away

And assumed my heart could work without it

Perfectly fine

But I am not

Perfectly fine

I am suffocating.
