I planted a tree, it’s environmentally sound

But pesky rabbits around us they really abound

Now one certain bunny, let’s call him Bugs

Took a shine to my tree and chewed at its buds

I shooed to away, time and time yet again

But persistent it was, returning again and again

I shot the bugger, planted it right under my tree

It’ll rot down nicely, making fertilizer for free

I know, I know, for Watership Downers, perhaps it hurts

But was the it bunny, or the tree that got its just desserts?
