I'm not going in work today

I don't feel well at all

Now comes the bit I hate

Time to make the call.

I laid it on a bit too thick

Sounded like I was dying

My boss just said okay fine

Like he knew I was lying.

I haven't eaten anything

Not been sleeping either

I'm going hot and cold

I think I've got a fever.

I made myself a Lemsip

Curled up with Jeremy Kyle

Under a blanket on the sofa

I'll feel better in a while.

I can't stop bloody shivering

I'd be better off in bed

But I can't be bothered moving

So I’ll watch a film instead.

By the afternoon I’m dosed up

On pills, don’t feel as rough

My head doesn’t hurt half as much

Just this bloody cough.

After a late shower and a shave

I watch Columbo on TV

One more thing will sort me out

And that’s a chippy tea.
