I Need You!

I’ve sent you so many letters but it is so slow. By the time you’ve received mine and written back too much time has passed. My letters are not conveying my urgency. I need you here and I need you now!

Your last letter had an email address. It is tough working out the time differences. And I don’t know what you are doing. I have no idea if you are home during the day, the evening, the night.....I’ll send you a message and wait for your answer.

At last my computer beeps to let me know that I’ve received a message. “I’m here!” That’s what you say. And that is the problem. You are there and I am here and I need you with me NOW.

It’s all too much! I have to get out. Now. Instantly.

It’s too cold to be out in a short-sleeved dress but I don’t care. My bare feet make their way quickly and surely to the sea’s edge and there I stand, imagining I can see you all that way away.

I need you!” I shout, across the waves. Maybe you’ll hear me but I don’t hold out much hope.
