Chapter 1

Chelsea’s P.O.V.

It’s my first day here in the Copperfield Academy. I’m walking on the hallway when I heard these girls talking about someone. I wonder who that guy is.

“Oh my gosh girl! He’s coming! How do I look?! How do I look?!”

“You look pretty fine girl. Hey, there he is.”

Then an exceedingly handsome guy passed in front of us. Probably, he’s the guy who was been talking about by those two girls.

Finally, I had arrived in our classroom. Good thing, I am not late because our teacher’s not yet here. I sat on unoccupied seat, second to the last row, beside the window. There’s still a vacant seat beside me.

Then, again, I heard the girls chuckling. Maybe, there’s another handsome guy who will come in just like the guy who passed by the hallway a while ago. And I was right, no, I was wrong. I mean, it’s neutral. I was right because there’s another handsome guy who came in our classroom. And I was wrong because it’s not ‘another’ handsome guy, but rather, it’s the same guy who passed by the hallway. So he’s our classmate.

I saw that guy walking towards me. Wait, towards me? I roam my eyes around the classroom then I saw the girls staring frantically at me. Oh my, did I do something wrong?

“Hi there. I bet this seat is unoccupied.” - The guy told me.

“Yes it is.” - I said.

“Then I can sit beside you.” - He concluded.

“How do you say so? Did I allow you to sit beside me?” - I asked him.

“You know, there’s no rule of asking a permission just to allow someone to sit beside you. I can sit there as long as I want.” - He answered.

I just ignored him and I didn’t bother to answer him back. If he wants to sit beside me, and then go, I don’t mind at all. Next thing I knew was, he’s already sitting beside me and I could see our classmates, mostly girls, who were furiously looking at us.

Oh I just forgot, that this guy is an exceedingly handsome that’s why those girls were acting like that. So what if he’s sitting beside me? As if I wanted him to sit beside me. Like duh, I don’t like those guys. I just want a guy who’s exceptionally perfect which can only be found in fictional stories. So I am absolutely hopeless.

After several minutes, our teacher arrived.

“Good morning class. I am Ms. Felicity Reyes. But I want you to call me Ms. Reyes. I will be your class adviser for this school year.”

“Good morning Ms. Reyes.” - The class answered.

“Now I want you to introduce our new student, Ms. Chelsea. And as you all know class, our school really doesn’t accept transferees in fourth year. But since Chelsea is a very outstanding student, we allowed her to transfer here. Go ahead Chelsea, introduce yourself.”

What did Ms. Reyes told us was true. It was really hard for me to transfer here because this school isn’t accepting an incoming fourth year students. I came from a public high school. I was given a scholarship that’s why I was able to study here. I was just asked by my former school to transfer here since I have a very high grades and it is better for me if I will graduate from an exclusive school.

I started walking in front of the class to introduce myself.

“Good morning. I am Chelsea Liana Valdez.”

After that, I went back to my seat. And I heard the guy beside me said,

“So Chelsea Liana’s the name. Hi there CL. By the way I am Sean Arvin Mendoza.”

“My name is Chelsea. So you should better call me Chelsea. CL’s not my nickname. Nobody ever calls me that Arvin.”

“Arvin isn’t also my nickname. They usually call me Sean. So there’s nothing wrong if I would call you CL.”

“You know Sean, we are not even close so why are you calling me by your own-made nickname for me?” - I asked.

“Yes I know that. That’s why I’m talking to you. I just want to be friends with you because you know, you’re the only girl who’s not trailing me.” - He answered.

“Trailing? What do you mean by that? And what are you trying to imply? That all the girls here are stalking and admiring you? Oh come on Sean, yes you are exceedingly handsome but I didn’t know that you’re also excessively conceited.”

“Hey! Watch your words CL. I am not conceited. I’m just stating the fact. Because just so you know, every girl around here just wants to be with me so that they can brag to their friends that they’re so lucky and pretty because they had the chance to be with me.” - Sean said with a melancholy on his tone.

I never know that that’s his situation. He’s handsome yet he’s not happy with that because he couldn’t find serenity in his life. Yes it’s a pleasure for him because he’s being admired and liked but not to the point that he can’t have peace on his own because as always, there are girls who’ll be stalking him and he couldn’t have privacy at all.

“Alright. I got you now. I’ll let you talk to me but unless those girls wouldn’t upset me. ‘Cause you know, I have my own world. Headphones in and just ignore the world. Or, eyes locked on the book and just ignore the world. That’s my two usual worlds; music and books. I wouldn’t mind on everything around me.” - I told him.

“I also have those two worlds just like you; music and books. But the difference is I have three usual worlds; music, books, and games. I’m a music lover, I sing and dance. I also play musical instruments. I also love reading books. And of course, I’m a gamer. And, oh, I am really sorry if those girls stare badly at you. I know it’s my fault. But never mind them at all.” - He said.

“Oh nice. And yes. I wouldn’t really mind at them all.” - I answered.
