Dress code

I wonder if other people feel the same way about the topic dress code as much as me. In my opinion the dress code is sexist,Guy’s have way less rules to follow by, and the girls dress code needs to be cleaned up a bit. Should we just move to uniforms ?

The dress code is sexist, not all guys are pervs and “get happy” about a SHOULDER. Literally everyone has a shoulder. You do, You’re neighbor from across the street does, and even your father has one. “Girls can’t wear spaghetti straps” Why because my shoulder is going to show ? My cleavage ? Yea it’s a fact of life every girl on planet earth does/is going to have cleavage by the age of thirteen. “It distracts the opposite sex” Ok learn to teach your son to not be a perv. Teach him it’s not ok to go gaga over some lady’s cleavage.

With this in mind think about the boys dress code “Boys who’s pants sag only get asked to pull their pants up, but if a girls have to go to the office and have their parents bring them new clothes.” Says Hailey Tjensavild. Do you see what i mean the dress code is sexist. “Dress codes are unfair to girls, and underestimate boys maturity.” Says a high school senior in Palo,Alto, CA.

As you can tell i’m against the dress code but  someone who approves of it who are for it might say; “Some people could take it too far.” Ok that’s not true, so some people take it too far ? So why not punish them don’t punish the ones who don’t abuse the power. They could also say “What about if a girl bends over in a dress ?” Well that girl needs to be wearing leggings or shorts under that dress. That’s an ok rule because we do tend to bend down a lot. Or they could say “What about the holes in the pants ?” Ok just wear leggings under the pants if the holes are on your thighs, if not don’t worry about it you’re not going to be able to see anything if they're not on her thighs. Last they could say “The tank tops ? I don’t think those should be allowed.” NO they should you can just wear a flannel, a cardigan, or a jacket. It’s not that hard to cover up.

In addition to me wanting to fix the schools dress code, i’m thinking we should just switch to uniforms. 16.5 percent of schools wear uniforms 50 percent reinforce strict dress code. This could also be really bad though because “American spend about 1 million dollars per year on school uniforms” That’s a lot of America’s money that could be used for something different than boring old school uniforms. Everyone say’s that school uniforms stop bullying, that is nowhere near true.” Bullying occurs whether students wear uniforms or not. The root cause of bullying should be addressed.”Nothing can stop bullying, unless the bully stops themselves. Bill Clinton said in his 1996 speech that “said in his 1996 State of the Union speech, “If it means teenagers will stop killing each other over designer jackets, then our public schools should be able to require their students to wear school uniforms.” OK but what about the shoes ? You can’t ban any type of shoe because if that’s the case a lot of shoe stores would go out of business.
In conclusion to all of these quotes i think i have gotten my point across. I hope i help reinforce the dress code.
