It was Monday morning when I woke up from a night of pain. ‘School today. Crap.’ I thought. I disconnected my phone as I laid back in my bed. I turned on my phone and waited for it to load. When my phone loaded after like 5 minutes, it blinded me. ‘Too bright’ I thought. My eyes finally adjusted to the light, but I turned it down anyways. -2 text messages- One was from Destiny and the other was from Rachel. I messaged Destiny first. -Hey. Good morning. I went to bed early. I wasn’t feeling good. See you at school. - I sent the message and got ready for school. I grabbed my clothes from my closet, my phone, my speaker, woke up our dog, and went downstairs. I let her out the backyard to do her duties. I went into the bathroom. I got my phone connected to the speaker and placed it in the shower on a rack under the water so it wouldn’t get wet. I was a huge Selena Gomez fan so I decided to put some of her music on. I went to check on my dog. She was running around like she was crazy. I laughed and went back into the bathroom. I got undressed and got into the shower. I wanted to relax so I plugged the drain and laid back in the water. I let the water flow over me. It felt nice. I was humming to Come and Get It. It was one of my favorite songs. I stood up and unplugged the drain after realizing that I was laying there for like 5 minutes because Same Old Love was almost over. I was washing my hair when my phone rang. I grabbed my towel and dried my hand off to see who was calling. It was Rachel. I answered. “Hey bro we got gym today. Wanna ditch third period?” “Ew today? We can skip. My mom won’t care.” I hung up and got back into the shower. I finished up when Who Says starts playing. I was singing as I was getting dressed. I walked out of the bathroom and walked to the back door to let Gabbi back inside. Her paws were wet from the dew on the grass. She went and laid in her bed in the living room. I went to my room to grab my backpack and headphones for school. I put Gabbi’s food in her bowl and gave her some water. I called Rachel to let her know I was walking to school instead of taking the bus. She was kind of mad but she knew.

I made it to school around 7:45. I texted Rachel to see where she was at. She texted back saying that she was in the cafeteria. I had to walk across the entire school to get to the café but I did it. When I got down there I saw her with Destiny and Sophia. ‘Why is she talking to Sophia? She knows I don’t like her.’ I texted Rachel saying -Girl why you talking to her? Me and Sophia don’t like each other.’-  While I was waiting for a reply I decided to go down to the choir room to talk to Mrs. Johnston to see if he had any concerts coming up. “Mrs. Johnston do we have any choir concerts or competitions coming up soon?” I asked. “Yes. Thursday night we have a concert competition. Many other schools from around the county will be there.” She answered back.  “Alright thanks. See you 6th period” I said walking out the door. “Bye.” She said. I walked back up to the main floor to get ready for class. *DDDIIIIIINNNNNGGGGG* the bell rang. It was time to go into class. I looked at my phone as I was walking down the hallway. ‘1 new message from Rachel.’ The screen read. ‘I hope she isn’t mad at me for what I said.’ I thought. As I was walking into class Destiny stopped me and asked why I wasn’t with them this morning. I told her “I talked to Mrs. Johnston about choir concerts and competitions coming up.” “Oh okay. Do we though?” Destiny said. “Yeah. This Thursday night we do. You coming to this one? It will be against Brooklyn High, the best choir group in the county. Mrs. Johnston wants us to practice every day after school to make sure that we can be the best we can be. I heard that there is this guy named Jermaine that is supposed to be really good. He has videos all over Facebook about him singing. I watched some and they were pretty good. I hope we are better though. I gotta get to class. Text me some more if you want.  Class is boring as usual. See you and Rachel at lunch.” I said. “Alright, bye Ryan.” Destiny told me as she was walking down the hall. I walked into the classroom and to my seat next to this really cute guy. I didn’t know his name because I didn’t want to sound like a creep and I was really shy.

The bell rung as Mr. Banner walked in. He said good morning and went to his desk to get the bell work on the board for us. My phone vibrated as I was sitting in class. I pulled it out of my pocket and looked to see what it was, of course it was Destiny. ‘Hey hey hey girl. What’s crackin’?’ the text read. ‘Hey. Nothing much just sitting in English with a really cute guy next to me. How about you?’ I sent the message.
