It is about a girl that is left for quite some time. I was actually inspired by something for this poem/song.

I loved you like no other.

I actually still do.

Not that you can see that,

For you have moved on.

Although,

I really don’t mind

Because you’ve scarred

Me for life.

And left a wound

That cannot be healed

It’s the one on my heart.

The one that you have left here.

No amount of happiness

Could ever take the pain away

No one can give me the same happiness

You did.

Why did you do this?

Why did you leave me this way?

Not a word, not a warning

Just disappearing on me.

Sometimes I wish I never met you.

I have moved on,

And so have you.

Did you feel the same pain I did?

The year you left me.

All alone…

I’m bleeding out and

My loyalty is shaking,

My confidence wavering.

I sought out a presence

That made me feel alive

And so happy.

When I found him,

I realized that I had let go

Of you.

But even then

I still have the wound

That I cannot heal.

It’s the one on my heart.

The one that you left here.

No amount of happiness

Could ever take the pain away

No one can give me the same happiness

You did.

Why did you do this?

Why did you leave me this way?

Not a word, not a warning

Just disappearing on me.

Sometimes I wish I never met you.

I have moved on,

And so have you.

Did you feel the same pain I did?

The year you left me.

All alone…

I’m so tired

But then he slips his hand in mine

And he smiles his brightest smile.

Then at that moment I realize

That even though you

Left a wound that cannot be healed.

He can stitch it up for me.

His promises, his smiles

And all the little things that make him, him

Will keep me alive and I will never bleed out.

I will live on!

I will live on!

I will live on…
