As I walked up to the gates of Princvard University I was in awe. Modern architecture, pristine grounds, and most importantly: NORMAL PEOPLE. I could not sense the qi of a martial arts practitioner anywhere near the campus.

"ahhhhhhhhhh" I sighed.

I checked my watch to make sure I wasn't running late for my meeting with the President of the school. 11:45. "Good, I'm 15 minutes early." I thought to myself.

President Maddox is a 65-year-old gentleman who was excellent friends with my father (it just so happens that he is also my godfather). They met through the CIA and worked on several missions together. From what my father has told me Mr. Maddox has been the most successful strategist in the history of the CIA. Partnered together it has been said that they were an unstoppable force known as the shadow unit. Maddox retired several years ago and the agency gave him a cushy job like this in hopes that he would occasionally assist in planning missions.

I walked into the main office building and asked the secretary where the President's office was. After receiving directions, I made my way through the massive building filled with beautiful paintings and sculptures showcased on a spotless white tile floor. After about 5 minutes I made it to a waiting area outside of the President's office. It was a large room with dark blue walls and a gray leather couch.

I pulled out my brand new smartphone and checked my social media accounts to pass time. I mainly followed news accounts or politicians because I didn't have any friends to follow. I grew up traveling the world with my father. He would go from safehouse to safehouse completing mission after mission. However, every time we entered a new country, he would entrust me to a martial arts master that he was somehow acquainted with. He had made quite a name for himself and not many people wanted to get on his bad side. So, most of the time, I would become the sole disciple of a renown master for 2-3 years at a time undergoing the most grueling and fast paced training imaginable. Sharpening my mind, body, and spirit to become strong like my father. Father ensured that my masters taught me math, science, history, and so on. Unfortunately, I have never attended a real school before.

Last year I took the SATs and they were surprisingly easy. I got a perfect score of 2400 and a letter of recommendation from the president of the university himself got me into Princvard.

I heard the door to his office swing open followed by a loud "Come on in Dustin! Long time no see." Mr. Maddox had a huge grin on his face. He was around 5'7" (so around 5 inches shorter than myself) and in decent shape. He wore slim rectangular glasses with black frames that contrasted his short white hair that was styled up fashionably. I went to shake his hand and he pulled me in for a hug that lasted a couple of seconds longer than I would have preferred.

I sat down in a large red chair in front of his desk and began to study his office. It could be compared to a small public library in that rather than walls there were only bookshelves that were easily 20 feet high.

"Thank you for the letter of recommendation Mr. Maddox, I'm sure it greatly increased my odds of admission." I said in an appreciative tone.

"Of course, of course. I am your godfather after all. Now let's get down to business. You might as well skip orientation and let me give you the run down real quick." He handed me a plain black folder with no writing on it. I opened it up and saw a course schedule, my alias (necessary if my father was ever compromised on a mission in the future), dorm key card, and a student handbook. He continued, "You are a capable young man, I'm sure your masters have given you many difficult tasks. However, I believe that attending this school will be by far the most difficult. You will need to learn a new skill: socialization. Please try to get along with the students and for the love of god DO NOT FIGHT ANY STUDENTS! The last thing I need is a hospitalized student and a lawsuit. This is everything you will need. Your alias is on your student ID card. If anyone asks just say you're an international student coming from outside the US and you moved around a lot."

I looked down at the card. It read "Dustin Graddox"... "This is the name a brilliant strategist came up with... He literally mixed his last name with my own." I tried to hide the look of disappointment on my face and said "Understood Sir." with the tone of a soldier that my father had conditioned into me.

"Very well." said the President. "You know, your father really wants you to succeed him and become the next shadow operative. You are by far the most talented 19-year-old in this country so why didn't you sign on and start doing missions?" He asked. "You could make quite the profit just like your father." I could hear the sincerity in his words.

I looked at him with a smile and laughed "pfffffffff wayyyy too much work hahaha. Thanks again Mr. Maddox, I'll be on my way." I shook his hand and began to leave. As I walked out the President called out "By the way, Dustin, I had all of your belongings sent to your dorm room. You have special permission to have your swords in your dorm so you don't lose your prowess. However, no firearms are allowed. If an untrained student somehow got a hold of a gun they could do much more damage than they could with a sword. Try to keep them hidden from your friends and if you need anything in the future don't be afraid to ask."

"Thank you, sir." I replied and began to walk towards my dorm. I couldn't help but smile at the fact that I would now be able to live as a normal person.
