Lost, with no no trail of breadcrumbs to find our way back.

Suffering and bleeding upon this self-inflicted rack.

Nothing looks familiar stumbling down this trail of tears,

Lies disguised as truth, playing directly upon our fears.

With torches held high, we villagers seek out the beast.

we can't blame ourselves, if there's others to blame, at least.

Swinging wildly from one philosophy extreme to another,

take everything to the limit, and screaming at each other,

'It's your fault, because you and your mamma are so wrong.'

All pretense of civility and compromise long gone.

Torn down the middle, a fractured sense of what's right,

a frightened shadow of what we used to be, cowering in the night.
