Summary

I looked up the word, Yonks. It lead me to writing this poem. It maybe about the beginning of life or man on Earth. Tell me what you think it means? Thank you.

YONKS

Long time ago

Before we were born

Some thing did happen

On a long lonely dawn

In layers of Hope

On pylons with dove

A spark found the Earth

And loaned it some Love

Long before then

A man with a kite

Coughed and sneezed

On a breeze called, might

On billowy sails

Light trailed the sky

Carrying the man’s cold

Through eons and a night

It found a small rock

And settled as dust

Waited for fate

And a natural thrust

Now we are here

Because of a man

Thanks to the heavens

That gave us a plan

Long time ago

Some bowed head in hand

It was not God

That gave the command

So be careful my friends

Cautious and wise

We may be a virus

To start our demise

Still, time has no end

So that they say

So, still we have time

To change what we play

Fill it with Hope

Pack it in Courage

Smother it with Love

And pay it some homage

We are what we reap

We are what we sow

We are who we are

And can be what ‘we’ know

For a long time ago

Before we were born

Some thing ‘special’ did happen

On a long and lovely Morn

Amen
