Rock Bottom

You’ve hit the bottom, you’ve fallen down,

You’re being seen just like a clown;

Can’t go no lower you do believe

But here it seems you’ve been deceived.

You find that you are sinking lower,

Maybe falling a little slower;

It’s like a swamp where you do sink,

How much further you do think?

Never ceasing, you still do drop,

And wonder if you will ever stop;

You’re falling in an endless pit --

Will you ever reach the end of it?

And if you stop, put on the brakes,

You’re filled with sorrow, your heart aches;

So far away now from the air,

Can you reach it, do you care?

An endless battle every day,

Perhaps you’ll just lay down and stay

In a cocoon of blackness, dark as night

And surrender from a constant fight.
