Some of Hamilton's quotes are: "I never expect to see a perfect work from an imperfect man.", "Why has government been instituted at all? Because the passions of men will not conform to the dictates of reason and justice, without constraint.", "A national debt, if it is not excessive, will be to us a national blessing.", "In politics, as in religion, it is equally absurd to aim at making proselytes by fire and sword. Heresies in either can rarely be cured by persecution" and "When the sword is once drawn, the passions of men observe no bounds of moderation".

Hamilton was in the New York Company of Artillery, the Continental Army, and the United States Army. He served from 1775-1776, 1776-1781, and 1789-1800. He finished with the ranks Major general, and U.S.. Army Senior Officer. Alexander did get to graduate from Kings College, New York (Columbia university). Hamilton was buried in Trinity Church Cemetery, New York City, with Angelica Schuyler.
