His young wife, his love

His entire life a companion,

He didn't recognize the signs

Before her life came to an end.

When he looked back in time

He now knows she was depressed,

Hindsight can be cruel,

She hid how she felt, he did his best.

If he could relive that day

He would recognize her pain,

As a hint of mental illness

He would not be so mundane.

It’s too late now

Her final thought was suicide,

We all need to be educated

It's a dark roller coaster ride.

Depression can be a killer

We must all pay attention,

Some people desperately need help;

Without apprehension.
