The waves rose and fell with vigor,

The wind was cold and bitter,

The ship did shake with waves ever taller,

In the storm's great colossal squalor.

The lighthouse beacons did shine so bright,

Against the clouds as dark as night,

To warn the ship amidst the storm,

Of land hidden by the dark of morn.
