It was the day of the school reopening. My mom called me " Ash, wake up...., If you don't want to be late on the very first day". But how can I after all these wonderful summer holidays, how can I go to school again. Actually I didn't like the school. Can you believe that even though I studied in that school for 6 years, I don't have a friend. Maybe that's because I'm fat or maybe because of my character. But I didn't care. My mom called again. That's when I looked to the clock " Oh my God....... It's 8 a.m on the clock. The bus will be here in 30 minutes. I rushed downstairs.

I hurriedly brushed my teeth and bathed. My father had ironed my clothes. I wore it. I spent almost 10 minutes in front of mirror trying different hairstyles. How hard I try, it will not stay in place. So I decided to braid my hair. Then I heard a horn, it was my bus waiting for me. I board the bus. It took 30 minutes for my bus to reach our school. Seeing my school after 2 months, I thought it became more bigger than last year. It had two blocks, which had four floors each. I didn't know what to do or where to go. Earlier, in the reopening day we should go to the previous class and the teachers will come and take us to the new class. So I decided to go to my previous class 5th standard D section. It was in the second floor in the second block. As i reached the class, i saw some strange faces. I asked one of them " What are you doing in my class?". She laughed and pointed to a paper pasted on the door " I think you lost your way, Sis. This is our class now. I looked that paper, it was the list of students who are now in that class. That means now I have to look for the class which have a list that have my name. I didn't even know where was the 6th Grade was. I dont know whom to ask. That time I saw two of my classmates. I decided to follow them, maybe they know where the 6th grade was. They went to the 3rd floor on the 1st block. I looked on the door of the first class I saw, there was my name. I looked inside, there was only boys in that class. Girls all went to somewhere. I put my bag in the last bench and waited for the girls to return. I was the only girl now in that class. I felt alone. Tears began to fill my eyes. That time one of my classmate, along with her elder sister came near me. Her name was Arathi. She was close to me when I was in 4th grade. Her sister said " Arathi do not have any friends here. Can't you be friends." I was happy. At least, I don't have to sit alone.

Indeed Arathi was a good friend, I can talk to her a whole day. But the most hard part of the reopening day came - The Introduction. I have to introduce me to the whole class. I was a shy girl, I can't even talk in front of 5 people. But now I have to talk in front of 40 students. I waited for my chance with a fast heartbeat. At last my chance came, I hesitantly walked towards the teacher. I began " My... name is... Ash". I was shaking with fear. The whole class start laughing. I began to drop my confidence. But Arathi, sitting in her seat, asked me to breath deeply and speak. I somehow managed to finish the introduction. I rushed to my seat. I felt embrassed.

The day went on, teachers came and introduced themselves and asked our names. By that time we got two new friends, Keerthu and Anjali. We sat together and promised to be together forever. That's the day I learned importance of friendship. I determined to make more friends.

The school rang bell on 3.30 p.m. I walked towards the bus. I saw one of my new classmate on the way. I asked her " Hi, My name is Ash. I am in your class. What's your name?" She said angrily "Did I ask your name, then why did you say it. There is someone who will always come and disturb me. Don't you have any other job." I was really shocked. I thought all the girls were friendly. I apologized her and walked towards my bus. I was really sad thinking about these moment when I reached home. My mom noticed that and asked me what happened. I assured my mom that I am fine. But actually I was not. This whole year I have to study with the students.I didn't have a good sleep that night. I wished that if my parents changed me to a different school, I can have a lot of good friends. I finally slept that night thinking what was in store for me next day.
