A joker is a guy you cannot take seriously. He is the guy who cannot spend half an hour without telling a joke and make people laugh. He exists through his sense of humor that hides his sensitiveness. He has an opinion like everybody, but he is not taken seriously. So, he chose to be a clown in public, cause it's the role in society that suits him the best. And once people label you, it's hard to change it and be someone else.

Adam made jokes all the times, even when he didn't feel it. "Going Overboard" was never a problem to him, as it's what was expected from him. He played "The Waterboy", getting completely wet, the "Big Daddy", behaving as if he was the daddy of everybody, the "Little Nicky", behaving as if he was a kid... It was about role playing, and he was "Bulletproof" against all the teasing from his friends. "The Hot Chick" at any party he went never ended in bed with him. With girls he got "50 First Dates", and no second dates. They didn't want a boyfriend others would tease all the time. He was "The Master of Disguise", taking on any possible roles. But when he became himself, people would just walk away telling him he was no longer funny. The problem was, Adam hanged up with the wrong friends. They were no "Grown Ups", just "Funny People" who had found in Adam someone even more funny. When he told everybody he wanted to become a "Zookeeper", his friends made fun of him calling him "The Animal".

When his older sister got married he was asked to be the "Wedding Singer" cause it would make everybody laugh. And his father would say in the middle of the singing "That's My Boy", laughing with the crowd. He came from a family of jokers, the kind of family that takes everything as a joke. They never talked about problems, they would just keep telling jokes all day long. And that's how Adam learned to be a joker, just like his own family. His family was nicknamed by the neighborhood "The Ridiculous 6", that included Adam's father, mother, sister, the family dog, the family cat and himself. "Men, Women & Children" all made fun of the poor family. In reality it was not funny at all, even if everybody laughed. Whenever they were spotted in public, people would say: "Here's the Boom", in reference to the noise they provoked (laughter).

Even the "Bedtime Stories" before going to sleep as a kid were jokes. So were his dreams and nightmares. When the whole family decided to spend their holidays in the "Hotel Transylvania" to meet with Dracula, they spent "Eight Crazy Nights" in a "Strange Wilderness" with no laughter. They had finally met someone who hates jokes, Dracula himself. It was the best therapy they ever had. Jokes had become an illness, even if people say it's the best medicine. The truth is that they hided their problems and depression behind the jokes. And jokes are only funny when they don't hide anything. Laughing at someone is offending, it's a lack of respect. And if it's coming from your friends, it means they are not really your friends. It took a long time for Adam to realize it. From now on he "Shakes the Clown" he is to make stop the jokes and laughters, cause too much is too much, he can't stand it anymore. He wants to be taken seriously cause he wants to grow up. Making jokes is childish, and he doesn't want to end like his parents.

When he finished high school he went to a stand-up he enjoyed so much that he decided to give it a try. Jerry Seinfeld, a successful stand-up comedian he was a fan of advised him to go to a city where nobody knew him. It was a good way to get rid of all the people who laughed at him, and begin a serious career in stand-up. It took him a bit of practice, but Adam was talented and made it.

Here are his "Top Five" stand-up quotes:

"When the kids are laughing in the audience, I tear up, I'm so happy I did a nice thing."

The day Adam said this, there was no kids in the audience. Actually, he was talking to everybody, but nobody realized.... they were the kids. You don't have to be a 10 years old to be a kid. You can remain a kid all your life, like Adam. I have to tell you, you have to put yourself at his level to enjoy his jokes.

"Of course, I peed my pants, everyone my age pees their pants. It's the coolest"

The day he said this, he faked a bomb alert that looked so real that many in the audience panicked and... peed in their pants. Even Adam himself peed, despite of being the only one to know it was a fake bomb alert. It's really cool to get tricked by its own trick.

"My comedy is different every time I do it. I don't know what the hell I'm doing."

The audience is always the same, and the show is different every time. They don't know what the hell Adam is doing, but it makes them laugh cause it's so ridiculous. As long as they feel good about it, they will keep coming, no matter they don't understand all the jokes.

"I think the reason I don't read is because, when I'm reading, I feel like I'm missing out on something else. You know, What are my friends doing? Where's my girlfriend?"

Adam's audience didn't read, so they could check out what were doing their friends and girlfriends. If they did read, they would never come to his show. I'm not trying to say Adam's audience are idiots, even if none of them has an university degree.

"I immediately said yes for one reason and one reason only....Netflix rhymes with Wet Chicks,"

Well,... this one was actually the worst of all his stand-up quotes. But with Adam it's hard enough to make a top 4 list of his best stand-up quotes. So, next time only ask for 4 quotes, and I won't come up again with the Netflix quote.

"So, goodnight Adam. If you are tired of making people laugh, you can try to scare the shit out of them. All you have to do is to paint your face in white and you'll still be called the Joker. Just watch out for Batman, and everything will be fine."
