Daughter Of The Sea

BY

DONALD HARRY ROBERTS

Humanity. Whatever was I thinking? How could have fallen for such a fantasy…How could have I believed that such a love could endure.

“Father please forgive me.”

I, Seamist your daughter who has foolishly rejected her kind…turned her back on her family and  shamed you… beg….from the bottom of my heart your forgiveness.

I was lured by the fantasy of human love but err I was embraced by it for the passing of one moon I found it corrupt, draining my soul and casting it into darkness. I have been such a fool.”

The sea opened a portal and his majesty Whitecap, King of the Merfolk rose from the waters and looked upon his daughter.

“I knew the land walker would forsake you my daughter. Your young heart was too weak to deny the illusion of freedom to tread upon the confines of rock and earth and to know the touch of mortal man. I do my daughter forgive you and welcome your heart back to the sea. Come now and leave behind the anxiety of your brief lived mortality. Swim among us in true freedom.”

Seamist dove into the sea and once again  she was a daughter of the sea.
